Gian Michele Graf has been full Professor of Theoretical Physics at the ETH Zurich since April 1, 2001, before he has been Associate and Assistant Professor since the end of 1992 for the same field. His research interests lie in the field of mathematical physics with emphasis on quantum and statistical mechanics.



Prof. Graf was born on July 14, 1962 and is from Lugano TI and Rebstein SG. He studied physics at the ETH Zurich and received his doctorate in 1990 under Professor W. Hunziker at the Institute of Theoretical Physics. Afterwards, he was Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the California Institute of Technology. In 1992 he was awarded an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship.
